  • When manatees rest there are no rules! Usually they rest on their stomachs, but a few unique individuals like to recline upside down as this female manatee is doing. Rainbow light adorns her underside. Manatees inhabit shallow waters all along Florida's costal and intracostal waterways. Being very curious creatures they investigate their environment while comfortably floating in the clear blue spring water lit by the sun's rainbows. This is a peek at an undisturbed, natural behavior while this manatee winters in the freshwater springs.
