Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Series of mother and calf in the springs. Mother takes a breath while her active calf takes off to explore, flanked by fish, mangrove snapper, Lutjanus griseus. Their red algae can be a clue as to where the pair spent the summer. Horizontal orientation with blue water and sun rays. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
