Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Series depicting the close bond of manatee mother and calf. A mother floats at the calm surface while allowing her young calf to play in the sand. Fish, bream, Lepomis spp., are present. Peaceful, natural, undistrubed scene. Horizontal orientation with blue spring water, rainbow sun rays and reflection. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
