Manatee Health Assessments, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA. January 25, 2012 pm. Researchers from several federal and state agencies work together to gather data during the manatee capture and health assessments. A manatee is photographed directly after being captured. Its scars will be documented and addressed. The animal will only be out of the water for a safe, pre-detrmined timespan.
