Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Mother with two female twin calves swims into the warm blue freshwater. These rare twins are not documented but it is thought the calves are twins and not one calf with an adoptee. All three manatees have the same algae growing on their backs. Horizontal orientation with warming sun rays. Rare photograph. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
