Manatee Health Assessments, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA. December 7, 2011 am. Researchers from several federal and state agencies and other partners work together to gather data during the manatee capture and health assessments. A recently captured manatee is rolled with straps while a stretcher is scooted underneath. The manatee is only out of the water for a pre-determined safe period of time.
