Manatee Health Assessments, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA. December 7, 2011 am. Researchers from several federal and state agencies and other partners work together to gather data during the manatee capture and health assessments. Electrocardiography is preformed and recorded using a plastic container to shade the live imaging of the manatee's heart. The animal is only out of the water for a pre-determined safe period of time.
