Manatee Health Assessments, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA. January 25, 2012 pm. Researchers from several federal and state agencies work together to gather data during the manatee capture and health assessments. Grease pencil marks denote a field ID number assigned by the Project Leader. Sex of the manatee is also marked. The animal will only be out of the water for a safe, pre-detrmined timespan during data and sample collection.
