Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. An adult manatee swims with a young calf in the warm freshwater springs. Manatee, especially males, will occasionally play with other manatee's calves. Other manatee rest below. Horizontal orientation with blue water. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
