Manatee Warming In The Light-CGrant.tif
Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A manatee warms its belly in strong sun rays while rolling upside down on a cold winter day. Another manatee rises and one rests in the warm blue freshwater springs. A fish, bream, Lepomis spp., is present in the sunlight. Rainbows are reflected on the sand in this peaceful, tranquil and undisturbed scene in the natural warm water. Horizontal orientation with blue water, rainbow sun rays and reflection. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
