Manatee Health Assessments, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA. November 10, 2011 am. Researchers from several federal and state agencies and other partners work together to gather data during the manatee capture and health assessments. An arch is used for weight and grease pencil marks have been applied showing a field ID number assigned to the animal and its sex. A Manatee Rescue boat is in the background. The manatee is only out of the water for a pre-determined safe period of time.
