Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A series of an adult female manatee who checks in on a male calf that is alone in the springs. There is tender tactile interaction, socialization, and evident caring. The two manatees engage in manatee touching with their flippers entwined or holding flippers. Horizontal orientation with blue water from the spring and other manatee below with reflections and sun rays.
