Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A mother and calf swim close together in the warm blue freshwater of the springs. Mothers often tuck their calves underneath or close beside while swimming. Horizontal orientation, tranquil with reflection. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
