Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A curious manatee floats and looks out at the viewer. The snout, nostrils and whiskers are prominent. It is a cool winter day but this manatee is staying warm in the freshwater springs. Another manatee rests below. Vertical orientation with blue water and reflection. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
