Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A manatee floats with perfect buoyancy near submerged cypress tree roots providing a haven for a lone mangrove snapper, Lutjanus griseus. Snapper share the warm blue freshwater of this part of Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
