Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A manatee is respectfully observed by my friend Meredith while snorkeling. It is a profound experience to encounter these charismatic marine mammals in their natural springs winter home. The warm blue freshwaters of Three Sisters Springs are a winter haven for manatees Taken at Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
