Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A mother and small calf curiously peer at the viewer while floating near blue freshwater springs. Calves often have this bumpy skin that they grow out of. Another manatee rests in the background. Horizontal orientation with blue spring water and reflections, tranquil and undistrubed. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
