Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A mother and calf swim over a large blue freshwater springhead. The mother has a large scar from an injury on her back reflected on the surface. Fish, a mangrove snapper, Lutjanus griseus and a bream, Lepomis spp., are present. Horizontal orientation with blue water and reflection. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
