Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Mother and calf take a breath at the same time out front of Three Sisters near the sanctuary. Fish, mangrove snapper, Lutjanus griseus, and mojarra, Eucinostomus spp., swim below. Horizontal orientation with mottled sun rays and mixing blue and green waters.
