Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Horizontal orientation. A manatee flexes his snout near submerged cypress tree roots providing a haven for a lone Mangrove snapper, Lutjanus griseus, and a few bream, Lepomis spp. The fish also share the warm blue freshwater of this part of Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
