“Sweet Button-eyed Creatures” is how my manatee article starts out in the latest issue of ‘Underwater Photography’, on line magazine.

Just subscribe with an email address and download, it’s very easy.  Besides my article on photographing manatees there are some other fascinating pieces on diving in Cuba, Australia’s Pacific Coast, wrecks/reefs, black and white and macro photography.

Plus don’t miss “Parting Shot #3” by Alex Mustard.  It was written after Alex and Peter Rowland’s first encounter with manatees - that I had a bit of a hand in coordinating.....

Also note at the end of my manatee article - the “photograph” of me is a surprise from Peter I think.... :-).  He asked for a photo of me and I wanted to use Alex’s photo of me swimming at Three Sisters Spring - but it seems Peter liked this HD video capture that he took during an interview with me and Alex.  I do have a bit of a “grin”.... :-)

Also I was “touched” that Peter chose a shot of his for the cover of this issue of ‘Underwater Photography Magazine’.  As above it is of a younger manatee - with major propeller slashes in its side.  It is so easy to love and admire endearing manatee photographs - taken in clear water with wonderful light - but Peter reminds us in the cover shot here of what needs to change so we can ensure the future safety of these wonderful marine mammals.
